DEVELOPMENT, ORPHANAGES AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

D.O.V.E. is a non-profit Christian Aid Organization committed to caring for orphans in war torn countries.

Sierra Leone
The needs of the people of Sierra Leone cannot be overstated. The desire to provide assistance to Sierra Leone can be overwhelming when one considers all that needs to be done. With that in mind, D.O.V.E. is focused on helping those who have lost the most - the children.

Freetown
D.O.V.E. CHILDREN ENJOY RICE/CASSAVAThere are currently 40 children in Freetown who are being cared for by national D.O.V.E. staff. All are children, ages 4-14, who lost parents during the civil war, and were previously living on the streets. These children are now being provided with food, education and temporary housing with foster families. A building project is currently under way to provide these children with a permanent home.

The Interior
STREET CHILDREN WAIT FOR HOMEWhile the suffering in Freetown is tremendous, the rest of the country is in even greater need. Armed robbery and harassment make it difficult to send aid to regions that remain under rebel control. By April 2000 D.O.V.E. plans to have at least one children's home established behind rebel lines. Children continue to come to our staff everyday, and many have to be turned away.

How You Can Help
It costs as little as $30/month to provide one child with food, clothing, education, medicine and hope. If you would like more information about helping these children, click here.
